80/20 gas mix??

I have a miller 212 that I always run 75/25 in. Today I want to get another tank and all the store had was a 80/20 mix. What is the difference in the weld going to be and any other differences. Thanks

You probably wont notice all that much difference.

If you really wanna spray arc use 98%ar/2%o² or 95%ar/5%o² oxygen makes the weld burn hotter

Spray transfer NEW
by: Weldhelp

Spray transfer is a mode of wire transfer to the workpiece. As opposed to short circuit transfer, spray transfer can only be done with a minimum of 80% argon and in the flat and horizontal positions. Spray transfer (when done correctly) vaporizes the wire into a stream-like form when welding. However, in short circuit transfer mode the tip of the wire forms molten droplets which bridge the gap between the wire and the workpiece. Spray transfer requires a higher current and voltage thus making it only practical for welding material greater than about 1/4" thick while short circuit transfer may be used to weld any thickness of material.

I think the main difference is that since spray transfer requires a minimum of 80% argon, you are now able to weld using the spray transfer mode.
