Amp Setting

by Kevin Kelly
(San Diego, CA)

I have a Millermatic 175. The power levels are numbered 0 to 10 and labeled "Voltage" instead of amps. Is there a correlation between the numbers and amps?

--------------------------------------------------

Amps come from wire feed speed in conjunction with enough voltage.
I have never understood why amperage is used when very few machines have an ammeter.

as a starting point , 200 ipm of .035 is about 125 amps

miller has a calculator that might help you
