Body repair man, fabricator

My uncle used to have a race car fabrication shop and when I was a little boy he would give me all of his tungstens to sharpen i would then take them over to the sanding wheel and put a nice sharp point on them while he was welding and would just stand by and as he would need a new one he would hand me the old ones to sharpen.

This was done because he would be in a very awkward hard to get in position and would not want to have to get out.

From my experience I don't see that it is super critical especially in an environment like we were working in a race car fab shop.

Race car welds
by: LDR Racing

We build and repair our chassis in shop. They are sevreal reasons for having a nice sharp tungsen.
1.Driver Saftey
2.To have the best penetration and apperence of welds.
3.As for you sharpinging his tungens that meens he didnt have to crawl out every time to sharpen his own. Thus making it more productive.
4.It is his name on the car as the fabricator. If he did sh_tty work that news would travel fast and he would loose alot of clients.
