when using a miller shopmaster stick/tig/mig combo, running CO2 at 30cfh, i weld with settings at or around 18volts with an amperage around 265-75 doing this, you get the best penetration with the least amount of undercut. (when welding on 1/4" mild steel) i am a student at webster co. high in kentucky, but trust me I have plenty of mig experince, being as i have welded in my cousin's body shop for the past 3 years and have done loads of work using flux core to weld on heavy farm equipment. i have also won 7 out of the past 9 skills usa state competitions that i have entered for fabrication and welding technique. i am currently in the middle of a welding sculpture competition and have photos of my work in progress for anyone who would like to check it out. :)
