DCEP for FCAW??

I have a good arc and a great sound, but my welds are crispy and have a lot of pen. I don't feel good about the welds when I turn down the heat. Should I try DCEN?

most flux core self shielded wires are designed for dcen.

check the manufacturers specs first for the wire you are using...,

there are some gas shielded flux core wires also and some of them are made to run on dcep like bare wire.
