I just have my buddy hold a grinder for me and use a drill to sharpen my tungsten. You get a nice sharp tungsten. I wouldnt use a oxy/acet torch to sharpen my tungsten.

didn't think it would work at all, tungsten really can hold up to the temperature from the acetylene torch, cool trick.

I witnessed the same technique by an "old school" welder in 1989. It was interesting but crude. I would only do this as last resort.
