Flux Cored Arc Welding

by blake
(calgary)

I will be having to perform a metal-core welding test!
What can i expect from one of these tests? Will I only be performing flat welds! Will there be a root and fill involved? Or is root and fill even common procedure? Any information, plus amperage settings would be helpful! thank you.

Blake,

The test could be anything from a groove weld with root and fill in vertical and overhead.

or it could be flat...

or it could be a simple t joint that gets bent or sectioned.

metal cored

here is a link to some hobart wire and it has some settings ....I have been reading a lot and speaking to people about them but i have not had the chance to weld with metal cored wires.
