heavy prop welded to large8'' shaft in 304ss

this was just a back up protection in a wood pulp tank .

cold and no time to heat of course...

it was cracking just like all the existing welds .

i ground it out and put a weld chip... weld chip weld root in...

rotated shaft same again then cut the amps so 15 amps more than just weld on horizontal.

rotated shaft for comfort.started putting runs in at 4/5 degrees downhill ,no hurry ,no chipping welding runs with no traps and got a super smooth layered fillet not a crack anywhere 10gg 304 or 309 rods supplied .
