on your pipe test after your finished take a file and run it around the edge of your weld it makes your stuff look better then the other guy forcing the boss to notice your work.in this field you want to be noticed for your ability to produce not just showing up good luck

DO NOT FILE AROUND THE EDGES OF YOUR WELD. Don't do this on a booth test for sure. It is an automatic bust in most places. says right in the parameters, no file or grind marks on cover.

Filing around the outer edge is bad advice. It would result in "base metal reduction". Why attempt to give it the illusion of a straight weld by sawing & filing. Work on making straight uniform beads.

well you can do that but it does not do alot of good when you have to cut straps and have them bent and pulled. not to mention alot of inspectors dont want to see that on pipelines.
