Many welders are gambles - even big name ones

I had a Miller Econotig that died due to circuit board problems. It seems that the Econotig had that problem. In about six years I had maybe 50 hours on it so it really wasn't all that used. In short, I am not a Miller fan.

Followup on Miller comment NEW

I posted my unhappiness with a Miller EconoTig. As a followup, I did email Miller and to my surprise ultimately got a phone call from knowledgeable person to discuss my problem which is probably that expensive circuit board. Still unhappy with spending good $$$ for Miller and a machine that ended up having circuit board problems in many of that model but they did get back to me so I don't curse them constantly. Still my previous TIG welder lasted me about 30 years w/ no problems and heavy use.
I would love to buy only American and am happy owner of a number of Hobart welders (they have great customer support - call and instant human help in English) which all behave pretty much flawlessly BUT when broke like now have gambled on a Chinese TIG welder/plasma cutter and am praying that it doesn't make my Miller experience a relatively great deal. Time will tell.
