I work in a machine/metal fabrication shop in wisconsin. i am the primary welder at my shop where i fabricate and weld stainless parts for food packaging machines. I use the exact same method as you. I used to have a hand held collet system for sharpening until that broke and then i needed to improvise a bit and thats what i came up with. i agree it works extremely well for the applications i use it for. I have not had any issues or problems this method. Some of my welds have even been x-ray inspected with absolutely no flaws. So my point is, i agree with you that this is a very inexpensive and effective way to sharpen your tungsten. I was wondering where you are located? If you are located in colorado by chance contact me if you are looking for an experienced welder. My email is Hendrickson6918@yahoo.com
