you can buy a tig torch with gas valve so you can atach it to you stick welder and the gas tank so whenever you finish your weld you can keep the torch on the end of the weld and then close the valve, but remember it will be scratch start.

Thanks very much for your comments. Regarding leaving the gas on; the welder will control when the gas comes out... the gas lines go from the tank to the welder, then out to the torch. You can control the "post flow"... that is, the length of time the gas will keep flowing after you finish your weld.
