positions and angle of welding holder

i have a exam about welding technology at ongc chennai. how i impress them. and answer that what are the angles between welding rod and the job?

Its very hard to say what is the proper angle because there are so many sources stating so many different things. and who knows what answer they are looking for.

I would say that many text books recommend 5-15 degrees as proper for flat and horizontal welding. for out of position welding, its very different.
