i agree with jody on trying not to wiggle too much, tungten pointing at the side walls is like kryptonite to a good root. i usually try to stay mostly on my wire. if you've got a good prep on the feather edge, the wire melting, will break the wall. this method does take some practice with heat and hand speed, but its worked for me for years. everybody figures out there on way that works for them and you will too. hope this helps.

if you r purging and im sure u are. the suck back will acure right when u are tieing in the root. to prevent this you should cut some holes n the tape. and if you are having trouble you prob arent x ray welding material. good luck though

What do you mean by this? Run a pass forhand , then another backhand overtop? Relatively new to TIG, certified on 7018 3 and 4 G with 1"plate. TIG doesn't seem as hard to me.
