I agree totally with your opinons on uphill welding. I do however use a bit differnt technique. I run my bead more side to side with less weave and always be sure to pause at the end of each weave to let the weld penetrate as to not get a feather edge. you basically have 2 speeds during each weave, pausing then quickly move across then pause, etc... on multi pass, ie thick steel i increase voltage and wire speed per pass. up to 30 volts on 1.25" steel. 20 volts in minimum on .250" steel. what are your thoughts? im always open to suggestions and better techniques.
