yes you can..

tinmantech.com is a site that promotes gas welding for aluminum and offers training materials on how to do it...not much for free but if you want to learn how, he seems like the main guy.

there are special lenses that are supposed to block certain light rays given off by the flux for welding aluminum..

he sells them .
