Written weld test.

what does the written weld test for d 1.5 and d 1.1 consist of? I'm a self taught welder and a job is going to test me for a welder position.

Plz help. Industrial weld shop.

I wish I could be more help but written welding tests for a welder is usually something the employer creates.

I have taken tests on D1.1 and other codes and the questions were taken from every section but seem to focus on welder and procedure qualification.

It might be very different for you as a welder since my written tests were for inspection.

I would guess it will be questions on need for preheat, acceptance criteria for welds, and quality.
