foot pedal switching

Hi jody, i posted earlier about stainless problems, i took advice and also did what im always telling students.PRACTICE.im now laying near perfect welds with a basic machine, one question if i get a pedal does it switch the main juice or the torch feed from the unit, the reason i ask is coz the inverter causes the circuit breaker to throw when switched on, once reset its ok but minute you turn off at the wall it will throw it again on re start, the site is very inspiring keep it up.jon.

jon,,

i am not sure i understand the question.
a foot pedal should not cause any more amperage draw than not having one.

foot pedal question
by: jon wilmot

Sorry Jody when i read my text back about the foot pedal it wasnt very clear, basically in th uk we use earth leakage circuit breakers for safety on electrical systems, my workshop is protected by one of these and basically when i switch the tig on it often throws the breaker as they are very delicate(even a light bulb blowing will trip them)once i have reset it the thing then settles happily and you can weld yourself crazy as long as you dont turn the machine off on the front panel,so the current draw is not the issue its the sensitivity on switch on, so if the pedal is in the line from tig to torch(the D.C.)line it will be ok but if the pedal turns the main 230 volt on and off it will throw the breaker,so can you tell me which side of the power the pedal controls, thanks again my mates are making ooh noises at the site of my latest welds !!
