good beads with 6010

Use a oval weave with 6010 and the bead will look a lot better. A step technique for vertical up tee joints works the best! -Erik (the motor man)

old timer
by: cptjack

I'm an old timer and that's how I welded truck frame rails to
shorten or lengthen the wheel base in "1957". Angle iron legs were clamped fore and aft of a careful flame cut. They got a
fish plate bolted to the inside of the channel after welding.
Never had a comeback.

vertical up with 6010
by: jw stoll jr.

this is something an old time welder taught me when i was starting out, so for whatever it's worth i'm going to pass it on, for non-code welding only, before vertical-up welding run a very hot pass from top to bottom. this works very good on rusted or corroded material
