what is fcaw in welding how does it differ from gmaw

---------------------------------------------------

fcaw stands for flux cored arc welding

gmaw stands for gas metal arc welding

flux core wire has flux inside the hollow tubular wire and assists with shielding..there are fcaw wires that do not require shielding gas and there are some that require shielding gas.

gas metal arc welding uses bare wire and always requires shielding gas.
