Pipe comes in different thicknesses.

schedule 40 is often referred to as standard and is .280" wall thickness....but it goes way up to schedule xxh which is .864" wall .

so your question depends on the schedule/thickness.


Assuming you are talking about schedule 40 and its in a pipe stand.

from fit up to complete could probably be done in an hour by some.

others might take twice as long or longer.

I have seen some who would take half a day to make a weld...but who hardly ever failed an x ray.


its a very individual thing.
