6011 weld rod are the cousin of 6010 and are made to weld using any polarity. DC or AC.
That means 6011 also welds fine using a simple AC buzz box like a Lincoln Tombstone AC welder or an old JC Penny buzz box.
The reason is that 6011 weld rod has a stabilizer in the flux that keeps the arc lit when the AC current changes direction.
6010 rods do not have that stabilizer and so don't work well on AC or even on some smaller inverters that don't have a strong enough arc
6011 rods are a life saver for small portable welds where you need to run a 115 volt extension cord to make a few welds.
A 20 lb inverter welder usually has no trouble burning a 3/32" 6011 at 75-80 amps and sometimes a few inches of weld is all that is needed.
Being able to run a drop cord and make the welds in the time it would take to unroll welding leads is a no brainer.
