I use both water cooled and air cooled tig torches.

When I am welding with a 200 amp tig welder like the ck mt200 , I mostly use an air cooled 17 and sometimes a 200 amp trimline 26 style air cooled torch.

But... when I need to weld some thick aluminum or even short production runs of parts, I use a water cooled tig torch like a ck20 because it stays cool in my hand.

I like how simple an air cooled tig torch setup is and I almost always opt for Super flex cables on my air cooled torches.

My mt200 tig welder is a fan on demand machine so its quiet while I am not welding.

Even the best tig coolers make some noise, so with an air cooled tig torch you dont have that going on as background shop noise.

These days, when I use a water cooled tig torch and tig cooler, I just put in some ear plugs.
