don't give up on 6013

by J.W. STOLL jr.
(NEW YORK CITY!!)

lots of welders don't like the 6013 rod, but i find them perfect for pipe railings, build up of worn mild steel parts and the odd shop hook for hanging my coat. some mfg's make the 6013 with a lighter flux coating that's great for vertical down sheet metal welding and those galvanized studs used for home construction these days. to get optimum results i use about 10 more amps that for same diameter 6010.

ok, i am willing to keep an open mind. I know they have their place. I just dont like em.
