Doing a horizontal fillet weld do I push or pull?

its the age old question

pulling typically penetrates a little deeper but makes a higher crown on the weld.

pushing has a flatter profile usually but sometimes does not penetrate quite as deeply.

deeper penetration is usually a good thing but not always needed. sometimes a flatter weld profile is more needed.

Below is a bare wire mig video that shows pushin vs pulling.

Dual Shield will be a little different, but you get the picture. sometimes you will have to pull and not have a choice because of something in the way.
