Flux wire - all the same?

by Doc
(Georgia)

I recently purchased a Lincoln 140. It came with NR211 flux core and Lincoln certainly recommends their product. I've looked for flux core at local box stores and on-line. There are cheaper alternatives. For example, weldingsupply.com has wire about half what Lincoln wire cost. Is it just as good? How about Hobart wire - just as good as Lincoln? I enjoy your emails and videos. Very helpful. My thanks for your help with my question.

Doc,

I like the hobart flux core too. Aside from that, you can spend a lot of time and effort trying out flux core wire and not get very much out of it.

I would say if you can get hobart wire lots cheaper, that a good bet. you may be asking for aggravation otherwise.
