how hot is to hot?

How hot is to hot with a mig welding with .45 hard wire when your welding anything from 1/4 to 1/2 inch flat,over head and down hill?

too hot for me means out of control.

sometimes that means melting thru when you dont want to, or sagging because puddle is too big or cooling too slow.

or for downhill, too hot sometimes causes the puddle to run in front of the arc.

it also depends on whether you are using short circuit or spray and what is the goal...production, quality, or whatever.
