hi again sorry to keep on bothering you (i'm the person from "thick metals" and "critical points"). i spent several hours yesterday finding out that my garage outlets are 15 amps can i still run my 20 amp welder through this or do i need to convert one outlet to 20 amps. there is one outlet on its own circuit (breaker) which isn't connected to anything else so it wouldn't be very costly to replace.
thanks, this is hopefully my last question

you could probably get by doing some light duty welding with that 15 amp, but in order to get all the power, you will need a good strong , properly wired 20 amp....with no extension cord.
and if you do absolutely have to use an extension cord, make sure it is as heavy duty as possible.
