Settings on TIG Welder

Just want to say thanks again for this great site!
I have learned a TON so far by just reading articles!
One question though, do you have an article or a link to somewhere that explains how the different knobs on the welder need to be positioned?

Im mostly thinking of stuff like down-slope, pulse current, base amps, pulse width, clear width. Just got a TIG welder, never tried it before but been mag welding for some time.

I will be doing a review on a tig welder very soon and while i am at it , it will explain all the knobs.
