strong enough

I'm using a millermatic 200, my question is will the weld be strong enough to weld on 5/8" steel plate?

there is no definitive answer here but...
if the metal is cleaned to shiny bright with a grinder, the machine is capable of making good welds on that thickness but it will require multiple passes.

if the welds are long, you might have an issue with duty cycle.
