Suck back in Penetration @ 6 o clock in 1" thick carbon steel pipe. stick welding

Been welding for 3 years now. I need to achieve more satisfaction in the visual penetration in 6G carbon steel pipe stick welding. I use the uphill progression method and start at 7 o clock or 5 o clock but the penetration I come up with in the overhead position is not to my satisfaction. The joint does pass the X ray and bend tests but I need to work on perfecting the visual test. Hoping for a couple tips from a pro.. Loved the site very informative and helpfull to all sorts of welders.

try changing your rod angle for a little bit of drag angle and really jam the rod in tight on the bottom
