Thank you very much for your comments. This is really a great site for welders. After reading your comments I adjusted the sensitivity on my autodarkening helmet and it worked. Now the problem is over. I was cursing the machine but you gave the hint and the problem has gone. thanks for that.

COLLET:
After using for some time the collet gets black oxide deposits. I tried to clean it with hydroformic acid. Amazingly it became as clean as new. Your comments on this?

I have not tried that. There are other household products like "brasso" that also remove oxides from copper alloys
