For TIG welding, that usually means propping on something in order to be steady.

But sometimes, there is simply no good way to prop except right next to the weld and that can be a Hot problem after just a few seconds.

It's hard to stay comfortable when your knuckles are screaming at you to stop.

Hanging in there long enough to finish the pass usually means blisters. (Ask me how I know)

Don't get me wrong. I dont always wear a TIG finger heatshield for every job.

But it really is like having a Prop right in back pocket and when you need it...you have it.

It's not just the heat resistance that makes it so useful either.

A lot of really good TIG welders have found a TIG finger® to be useful as a really smooth glide too....especially long runs on aluminum heat exchangers.

The TIG finger® Heatshield is made from a proprietary heat treated fiberglass sleeve that is heat resistant up to 1000F.

TIG Fingers® are designed with several folded layers on one side so that when you prop on hot metal, you can weld for several minutes without feeling any heat.

The TIG Finger®XL is larger and thicker providing even more heat protection. Most people can slip 2 fingers in the XL version and prop easily on:

• hot boiler tubes
• anodized aluminum tubing
• aluminum heat exchangers
• 6G pipe tests
