Tig welding tip

I am a B pressure Welder from Alberta. I am currently Tig welding Super Alloys like Incoloy, Duplex and Monel.

A friend of mine mentioned a way to "strike the arc" heres how. lay the torch in the groove of the pipe slightly tilted back and use the filler rod striking it like a match quickly against the tungsten. Preventing contamination. Alot better than your run of the mill scratch start technique everyone uses. I have been using it ever since. no tungsten inclusions aswell as less sharpening.
