When you start stick welding for the first time, no matter who you are, you could be the richest man alive, or a genius. Your electrode will stick to the metal. It is gonna happen. I remember when I first started stick welding, i would get so mad becase it would stick. What you have to do is keep welding. You WILL pick it up and not have the electrode stick anymore. Also always check to see if your amperage is at the proper amount
