AWS D 1.5 test

I,m taking a D 1.5 welding certification test Monday in Florida in order to weld SIP forms on a bridge. Will the test be all three positions? Not good at overhead welding and don't understand why you have to test overhead when you are welding nothing but horizontal.

jody here with my two cents..

its likely that the test will be vertical 3g and overhead 4g.

those two tests done together qualify in all positions....so you may not even take horizontal.

thats just a guess. everyplace is different with different requirements.
