It seems to me your inverted V technique is ALMOST as good as the Christmas tree technique but think about the mechanics of it. With the Christmas tree technique you're going across the joint TWICE with the puddle. Even without testing, but in your mind... can't you see that working better? One other thing. Look again at the video when you use the uphill Christmas tree technique, while watching it, think about what "an old timer once told you" about a series of small loops or "e's". Did the light bulb suddenly burst to life? Same technique only uphill!! Old timers rule! IMHO your technique is just about as stout as the other, but you'll pick up travel speed with it. Use the best technique for the proper outcome and strength and you'll always be right. Alan
