To get the best results out of a turntable weld, you need to be steady.

sometimes I set up a prop stand but for these welds a TIG Finger® was a quick way to prop right next to  the red hot weld

THICKNESS = 1/4” WALL THICKNESS TUBE TO END FITTING

WELD TYPE = GROOVE WELD- PARTIAL PENETRATION

JOINT TYPE = BUTT PARTIAL PEN WITH CHAMFER

POSITION = ROLLED ON TURNTABLE

AMPERAGE = MACHINE SET TO 200 AMPS CONTROLLED WITH PEDAL

TUNGSTEN = 2% LANTHANATED, 3/32"

FILLER WIRE = 3/32” E70S2

POLARITY = DCEN

GAS FLOW = 20 CFH argon

CUP SIZE =  10

ADDITIONAL SETTINGS =  PULSE SETTINGS 2 PPS, 50% PULSE TIME, 35% BACKGROUND CURRENT, 1 SECOND UPSLOPE, 5 SECONDS DOWNSLOPE

PRE FLOW = .2 SEC

POST FLOW = 7 SEC

TIPS: KEEP A TIGHT ARC 

Aim for an arc length that is equal or less than the diameter of your tungsten electrode.Torch angle can be forgiving provided your arc length is tight.

Keep the hot tip of the filler wire shielded by the argon envelope from the tig cup
