How long does my company have to keep weld coupons from previous job?

i am not aware of any requirement to keep the physical coupons. however, most companies do keep them for several years or the lab that tests them stores them for a few years.

I think best practice is to photo document the samples and discard the physical coupons about a year after the project is done.

each project is different. so if there is a history of issues, or a history of litigation, keeping the coupons forever might not be a bad idea.
