what degree can you move the test plate

hello. i was just wondering what degree you can move your test plate in a overhead position for stick test. i was told that you can move it 10 degrees up hill for the test, is this right? if not, how much?

It is completely up the the test shop inspector.

AWS codes provide some tolerance but some test shop supervisors wont let you move it at all.
