Building a Wood heater from 20 inch pipe.
This is a wood heater welding project for a good friend who has a 50'x60' shop with no heat.
My friend Matt Hayden is the welding instructor at Polk county College and Career Academey in Cedartown GA.
Matt was kind enough to work with me building this wood heater for a mutual friend.
We didn't have any drawings but since we both have built wood heaters previously, we just decided to wing it knowing we can always make adjustments later on.
And since our friend also welds, he can add things like vent air adjustments or he can beef up the grate if needed.
I made a wood heater for my Mom and Dad when I was in welding school. It was one of those insert designs that was recessed in their fireplace and had a cook surface for a kettle of water.
Building that wood heater was a great learning experience and it heated their whole house for several years.
