I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS TECHNIQUE TESTED IN A FILLET BREAK TEST. XRAY ONLY SHOWS OUTSIDE SIDE EDGE.IN AUSTRALIA WE HAVE TO DO A 10 MM WELD IN 2 PASSES IN 3F POSITION FIRST PASS XMAS TREE TECHNIQUE SECOND PASS WEAVE ON 12 MM GRADE 350 PLATE.PENETRATION MUST BE 100 % A FILLET BREAK TEST CLEARLY SHOWS LACK OF PENETRATION.

I THINK YOUR WEAVE TECHNIQUE ON 12MM PLATE WOULD FAIL A FILLET BREAK TEST DRAMATICALLY LOVE TO SEE YOUR VIDEO ON THIS IN A ONE PASS 10MM 3F POSITION

You just might be right. If I have time to do it, I might give it a go and see.
I do hundreds of fillet weld break tests every year on all kinds of welds and techniques....some that I do, most done by other welders.

GMAW short circuit is notorious for lack of fusion if you dont do it right.

thanks for the post,

jody
