MACHINE Settings and Details

WELD PROCESS = TIG, GTAW, GAS TUNGSTEN ARC WELDING

METAL TYPE = ALUMINUM

THICKNESS = 1/8"

WELD TYPE = FILLET WELD

JOINT TYPE = TEE

POSITION = 2F HORIZONTAL

AMPERAGE = 120-135 CONTROLLED WITH FOOT PEDAL

TUNGSTEN = 2% LANTHANATED, 3/32"

FILLER WIRE = 3/32” 4043

POLARITY = AC

GAS FLOW = 15-18 CFH argon

CUP SIZE = 5 STANDARD COLLET BODY

ADDITIONAL SETTINGS = AC BALANCE 27% CLEANING, AC FREQ 170HZ

FRONIUS WAVEFORM SETTINGS = Waveform Positive Rectangle Hard,

Waveform Negative Triangle 

0 Offset

PRE FLOW = 1 SEC

POST FLOW = 10 SEC

 

Roy likes a standard #5 cup for tig welding aluminum.

But there are many options that work well.

I have come to really like clear cups because they really help me see whats going on. 

One cup I recently started using is the furick #7 clear cup.
